The "European LE MANS SERIES"
In the 2012 European Le Mans Series LMP2 category which represents the spearhead.
There, mostly private teams competing for the win. Since these private teams in the massive array of work in the LMP 1 have no chance of winning, it is expected that the ELMS to romp about one of the former private LMP 1 teams.
The rules change also alleviated the LMP 2 teams to find sponsors, because in the ELMS races they are now at the center of attention.
There is also a new class that is not yet in the Le Mans Series begun, the GTC class. This class is open exclusively for Cup cars from Porsche, Ferrari and Lotus.
No more than one professional race car driver per car crew is allowed in this class. This regulation makes it possible for the Teams to find wealthy "gentlemen drivers" who pays for the use of individual vehicles, full starting grids are ensured.
